Browser storage stays on your device. Furlong uses it for local UI state, in-progress choices, duplicate prevention and the optional measurement preference below. It is not an authentication token.

Furlong uses identifier-free product-area counts and redacted page-speed measurements to find useful and slow parts of the site. You can pause both here. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are also honoured automatically.
Optional product and performance measurement: off
This control affects Furlong's coarse product-area counts and privacy-filtered page-speed measurements. It does not affect sign-in, security or your saved settings.

The sign-in cookie is protected with security settings appropriate to the service, including HTTP-only access and same-site controls. Preference cookies are used only to render the choices you make in Settings. Local-only interface state is not sent merely because it is stored in your browser.
You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. Clearing the sign-in cookie will log you out; clearing preference cookies resets those choices. You can also change supported preferences from Settings when signed in.
